Current Exhibits

  • Duane Allman’s Guitar – Though this guitar is commonly called an SG, it’s actually a 1961 Gibson Les Paul. This guitar is on loan to the Songbirds Guitar & Pop Culture Museum courtesy of the George Fontaine Family.

  • The History of the Electric Guitar - Take a journey through the past 80+ years to see how the electric guitar helped shape pop culture as we know it.

  • Chronicling the music legacy of Ninth Street, “The Big 9” features in-depth storytelling, interviews, as well as photos and memorabilia from the neighborhood’s roots in the late 1880s to its eventual decline in the 1980s.

  • The Impressions: From the Big 9 to the World Stage, Songbirds showcases one of the world’s most influential soul groups from their start in Chattanooga to becoming the soundtrack of America’s Civil Rights Movement.

  • The Science of Sound - Become a guitar god in our interactive exhibit for all ages that features music-focused STEAM activities.

Rent Songbirds for Your Next Event

  • Renting the museum is on a sliding scale, and these prices reflect four-hour blocks:

    Monday–Thursday: $1250

    Friday & Saturday: $2000

    Sunday: $1500

  • Sound system, LED screens, stage, full bar. You name it.

    Upon signing the rental agreement, we’ll ask you for a deposit of half your total fee.
